Escape rooms

Take escape room bookings by room, time slot and group size

Every room, every hour, with its own inventory — plus waivers signed at checkout so groups arrive ready to play instead of filling out forms.

How this type of ticketing works

An escape room is a scheduling problem wearing a theme. Each room can run one group per hour, groups vary from two to eight players, and everyone has to sign a waiver before they go in.

TixSimple handles it as timed inventory: a ticket type per room, time slots on the hour, and a per-slot cap that matches the room's max players. Custom fields collect the waiver acknowledgment and player names, and the group leader gets a QR code for the front desk.

What to set up in TixSimple

    1. 1Create an event per room theme, or one event with a ticket type per room.
    2. 2Add time slots for each operating hour with a cap equal to the room's max players.
    3. 3Price per player, and add a Private Game type with a flat buyout price.
    4. 4Add a required waiver acknowledgment field and player name fields.
    5. 5Offer weekday and off-peak pricing with separate ticket types.
    6. 6Create a scanner key for the front desk to check groups in.

Fee example: Per-player booking for a 60-minute room

A $32 ticket carries a TixSimple platform fee of $0.75 (1.3% + $0.33). If you sell 6 tickets, the total platform fee is $4.5. Stripe processing is separate and you choose whether to pass fees to the buyer or absorb them.

Buyouts, corporate groups and gift cards

Corporate team-building is the highest-margin booking most rooms take. Create a Private Buyout ticket at a flat rate with custom fields for company name, invoice contact, and headcount, and keep a couple of weekday slots reserved for it.

Coupon codes work well as gift certificates for local promotions, and email-list pricing lets you offer a standing discount to nearby hotels or student groups.

    Frequently asked questions

Can each room have its own schedule?

Yes. Give each room its own ticket type and time slots, so a room under maintenance can be closed without touching the others.

How do we stop strangers from joining a private group?

Sell a Private Game ticket that consumes the whole slot at a flat price. Once it sells, that slot is closed to everyone else.

Can players sign a waiver when they book?

Yes. Add a required custom field for the waiver acknowledgment and collect each player's name at checkout, so the front desk only has to verify, not chase.

What does it cost per booking?

1.3% + 33¢ per paid ticket plus Stripe processing. A six-player booking at $32 each costs about $2.55 in platform fees total.
